About Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER): Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) organises JIPMER PG entrance exam for admission for Master of Surgery and Doctor of Medicine programmes in different courses offered under Clinical and Basic Clinical Sciences. JIPMER PG 2016 entrance exam July session is scheduled to be held on May 15 for a total of 122 seats out of which 111 are for Indian and 11 for Sponsored/Foreign candidates.

JIPMER PG 2016 Exam Pattern:
The entrance exam of JIPMER PG 2016 will be a computer based test based on the syllabus as prescribed by the examination authority. The online question booklet of JIPMER PG 2016 will have questions based on the topics taught during MBBS programmes. The questions will be basically from Pre-clinical, Para-clinical and Clinical Phase.
JIPMER PG 2016 Exam Pattern:
JIPMER PG 2016 Eligibility: For JIPMER PG Exam 2016 Application. Candidates who completed their MBBS 2016 degree and obtained registration from Medical Council of India So, after completion of their compulsory rotating internship, they are eligible for JIPMER PG 2016.
- Candidate should have a MBBS degree from a recognized university by Medical Council of India if they are seeking for admission to MD/MS programmes
- Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) can also apply for the JIPMER PG 2015 but they have to submit proof of Registration as OCI at the time of counselling.
- For July Session: Candidate should have completed the required 12 Months rotating internship/practical training on or before June 30 if they are applying for JIPMER PG 2016 for July session
- The candidate should secure minimum of 55% aggregate marks in MBBS if they belong to general category or an aggregate of 50% marks if they belong to SC/ST category.
JIPMER PG 2016 Admit Card:
Candidates whose application would be accepted, they can download JIPMER PG 2016 admit card from May 2 to 15, 2016. The admit will have the candidate’s detail like name, roll number, exam center and all the important examination instructions.
JIPMER PG Result 2016:
JIPMER PG 2016 online exam Result will be declared May 25. All the Candidates can check their JIPMER PG 2016 result by entering their corresponding application number and date of birth. According to the officials, JIPMER PG 2016 result will only be declared for those candidates who score the qualifying marks. As per the qualifying criteria, general candidates have to score a minimum of 50 percentile in the entrance exam.
JIPMER PG Merit List 2016:
The JIPMER Merit list would be completely based on the percentile. The percentile is determined on the basis of the average marks obtained by top ten candidates in the JIPMER MD / MS Entrance Exam 2016. In order to be eligible for admission to Postgraduate course at JIPMER, it will be necessary for a candidate to obtain a percentile of 50 and above in the Entrance Examination. JIPMER PG Exam 2016 Application is However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes including OPH, the minimum percentile shall be 40. In respect of Unreserved Orthopedic Physically Challenged (OPH) candidates, 45 shall be the minimum percentile.
JIPMER PG Counselling 2016:
After JIPMER PG Exam 2016 Application completion. The JIPMER PG 2016 counselling would be conducted in three rounds including open selection. The candidates would be called in the batches for counselling as per the Reservation Roster Point. Good number of Candidates would be called from all the eligible candidates of all the categories so that Roster Point is not blocked for lack of attendance. Counseling would be done according to the category rank (UR / INST / OBC / SC / ST / OPH) and not by the overall rank as per the Roster Point allocation method.
